This is just my second day using the Kobo Aura One and I foolishly spent a small fortune on the official Kobo "auto-sleep" cover/case along with my order for the ereader.

The "auto-sleep" function works *after* a short period of time; all other auto-sleep covers/cases that I have bought for many different makes of ereaders and Tablets, including generic covers from Amazon over many, many years, have always worked instantly. The official Kobo Aura One sleep cover does not.

Sorry this does not answer your initial question but it is more a guide to avoid Kobo covers.

p.s. I am going to test by using the cover to "sleep" the reader for a few nights, then after recharge etc., I will be doing a power off each night. But of course, the time when the reader is actually powered off/sleeping may never be the same, so ...
