That is a strange explanation - a little different than Jim Butcher who already has a plan for 2 major events per book and simply fill in all the stuff around it. It will be interesting to see how the first chapter can be so meaningful.

Long gone are the times where fantasy could be fitted into 6 books as in LOTR. It is nice to have longer to read, but sometimes the waiting takes so long on unfinished series.
