Serves them right if they're that petty, if you ask me. I get tired of all the cover "updating," repackaging, and movie-edition re-releases anyway. They're books, not paintings for the wall. *shrug*

I love cover updates because I now read e-books. Then I can choose the cover I like and even change a book I already have, something I could never do with paper books
