I have a voyage and a Paperwhite 3, both with 3G, both way too expensive but I'm glad I got them. If anything were to happen to either I'd find a way to replace it. These things are just too good not to have.
I usually read with the Voyage but I'm reading my current book on the Paperwhite, not for any particular reason. I find that whichever one I'm using is the one I prefer but when it comes time to pick one I always go to the Voyage. I really do like it's reduced size and weight.
By the way, while it's true the Voyage only weighs an ounce less than the Paperwhite, the Voyage in it's case weighs about half as much as the Paperwhite in it's case. They both have the same Swees case, which is pretty lightweight. But the Paperwhite case is larger and therefore heavier.
I do agree with you that these things cost too much and I'm on a small fixed income so buying them takes a significant amount of saving up. But it's well worth it.
