Your video of how the phantom page turns happens when flexible cover is pushed to touch screen documents how phantom page turns happens. I have Kobo Touch version "A" with pocket in top cover. I was a little concerned that would cause page turns but no problem with screen recessed .010 inch below bezel.
I have 2 Samsung 8 inch tablets with flush capacitive touch screen and cover touching screen does not turn book pages or other nonsense. Probably Kobo Aura One touch screen is set to reliably turn pages but needs touch sensitivity lowered a little. Hard to get this right as my old galaxy note tablet often doesn't easily register touch of my dry fingers and works much better with stylus but new tablet more reliably responds to finger touch.
Maybe user touch sensitivity adjustment is needed or reject touch over larger area as done by synaptics touch pad driver on laptop computers.
