Just how tightly are you gripping your Aura to cause the corners to "bite into your hand"?
However, I do agree with you on the matter of the SD card. It's not a problem for me because I use the Kobo sleep cover, so my hands rarely come in direct contact with the bottom of the Aura, but it's certainly a design flaw.
That said, the internal memory is
way more than enough. I have nearly 600 files in my epub library (including several omnibus collections, so the total number of individual books is much higher), and that only uses up 1GB of the 3GB available. I have an SD card installed in my Aura just because I happened to have an extra one sitting around, but I can't imagine I'll ever need it.
