I could ride a bike, and have ridden a moped for almost 10 years (from age 16 to 25); hoewever, about 15 years ago, local governments thought that roundabouts would be better to prevent traffic jams, so they started to replace all traffic lights / intersections with roundabouts.
They are indeed better in preventing traffic jams, but they don't have the same 'I have to watch out here' intimidation factor of the red light. Traffic has become absolutely mayhem, even in the south, where it's not so busy. Everybody's like:
"I can STILL get into the roundabout by squeezing my 500 kg car in between that big ass 10.000 kg truck and the bus! If I don't, I have to wait 10 seconds... OH NO!"
To many, a roundabout is a little sort of irregularity in an otherwise straight roads, for which you don't even have to brake. Roundabouts scare me to death, and we got *A LOT* of them here now.

You make the third person I know on here that doesn't drive due to various vision problems.
I can't judge distance worth a darn. I tend to run into little stuff like walls just walking. I don't think anyone wants me driving.
