I'm talking about the Kindle vs Kobo in terms of software - I have a H2O and managed what you're attempting on the first try, I'm not sure why it should be different on the Aura unless the new update modified (broke) something in the software (wouldn't be the first time this happens). Or unless it has manufacturing faults.

I also did say it was "in my experience" - wasn't trying to make an absolute statement. As I wrote in a post a few pages back on this thread I also bought a Kindle Paperwhite 3 after years of exclusive Kobo use and for the first few weeks couldn't manage highlighting, which if we take Mobileread as the sum of all e-reader users would put me in the extreme minority. Make of that what you will.

Thanks for the tip! You can add a line to the Kobo's .config file to enable a 'Export highlights' option in your book. They should then appear as a .txt file in the root of your device, IIRC.
