People often mispronounce it, though, I'm sure. It takes a little effort for English speakers, at least, to pronounce the first part of the word. Reminds me of the football great Brett Favre. Everyone pronounces his last name "Farv," because it is much easier to pronounce than how it should actually should be pronounced, which is something like, "Favr."
I wish that I had paid bettter attention and applied myself more in French in high school and college. I'm doing research work now in which a great number of the scholarly articles and books that I would like to (so far, am not required to) read are in French. Let that be a lesson to all of you kids out there in MobileReader Land who are in school. ha
