I switched from a 2.0 to 3.0 hub recently (both powered), and there I have the same issue... My Kobo H2O sometimes just charges w/o offering the connection screen. I suspect the hub to be at fault (even though it seems to work fine for everything else).

Not really a dealbreaker as all I have to do is replug the cable when it happens...
