However, I just don't understand why the British were fighting wild pigs. Oh, wait a minute, that would be
boars . . . .
In all seriousness, I dare say that 95% of Americans do not know anything about that war, although it was a big event in the history of Great Britain. We're just not taught it in school--unless it's at the university level in a upper level history class or a lower level or above course on British history. I wonder if the Mexican-American War would be a good analogy. Do the British know anything about it? It was a pretty big event in the history of the U.S.
