For me I do both using hardware buttons and touch screen but I sometimes find that if I tap the screen I foolishly think the page has gone two pages ahead. On the odd occasion it has but 80% of the time it hasn't, so I always then have to go back. Sometimes it's just nice to have the tactile feel of a button press to know you've pressed it. I've also tried swiping the page which is sometimes better than tapping.

The other thing coming from older Kindles years ago I still have the mentality of tapping the top half to go back and the bottom half to go right. So sometimes I tap somewhere in the middle the screen and it goes back a page instead of forward a page, then get lost where I am.
