Glen Cook, in addition to being a great author, is just an all around great guy! He used to run a book booth at WorldCons so he could stand around and talk about things with his customers and was very gracious in signing anything you shoved at him. I haven't been in a long time, so I don't know if he still does that.

His series on the Black Legion is great.
