Today's beta release fixes the missing 1/2 star lines in the grouping drawer.

I am not sure what you saying about "No sort but grouping. It looks like they are grouped by ratings, not my custom column.". Sorting works fine in my testing, as does grouping on the custom column (with today's fix to show half-stars).

EDIT: you must resend the books to see the 1/2 star lines in the grouping drawer. Alternatively you can remove the custom column from the grouping drawer, let the DB upgrade, then re-add it. Sending the books is probably faster.
