I wasn't satisfied by the screen uniformity so I returned it because there's a Fnac in my city (I live in France), and an exchange takes 5 minutes.
The new one is not much different but I'll keep it (same as what you describe) because it's not disturbing like it was on my former Oasis and it's not like I read with frontlight set to 100 %.
