Edit: Sorry, just went through the thread, apparently it's a little more difficult this time around? Just those page footers are incredibly annoying!!! Just tried to install the 3.913948384 whatever patch and the Aura One firmware but it didn't work... Go away horrible enormous footer! So just to clarify - it doesn't work? Very confused... An easier thing to try would be to use something like EditPad Lite to edit the .kobo/Kobo/Kobo eReader.conf file to add FullScreenReading=true to the [FeatureSettings] section (you may have to create it if the section doesn't exist):

After that (you may have to reboot), under Settings->Reading Settings, there should now be a checkbox labelled "Show header and footer" that you can uncheck. Once done, books should use up the entire screen. It certainly works for kepubs, although I don't know if it works with regular epubs since I don't use those. No patching required!
