it's a shame because otherwise the device is beyond superb. reading it in natural light with the light off, it is, for me, the perfect shape and size and weight. the screen sharpness is fantastic. i would have liked it a little snappier, especially when typing, but it feels great and i love Kobo's ability to add fonts and the ease of side-loading my own documents. It is also the best looking ereader I think I've ever seen. except for the light gradient I'd give it a perfect 10. with the light gradient, i'd go 9.5. i returned kindles because of light gradients, but i'm going to weather this and hope i stop noticing, that's how fantastic i think the device is otherwise.
