like I said I'm a total noob and (shamefully admit) I'm not very keen on looking through 19 pages per thread to piece together some easy step by step guide...

not to mention this not being the only forum concerning various hacks to the (Grrr Amazon) very inconvenient way of hacking into the things to make them work somewhat comfortably

Sorry for that...
Just to make it easier for us to help you, please start using line breaks in your mind-dump, text blocks.

1) New information, not previously provided.

2) No

3) You install the *.bin file from the first post.
If it does not recognize your device, the steps to take are:
a) Check NiLuJe's snapshots thread for a newer version,
b) Ask here for someone to repackage it for you,
or
c) Repackage it yourself.

4) That is a good point, why don't you try those other forums.

= = = = =

Now that you have mentioned that you tried two different ways to install this add-in, the next question is:

Did you remove the directory structure below /extensions/librariansync in-between each installation attempt?

Have you re-boot the Kindle at anytime since first expecting the menu entries to change?

Also, please tell us **which** type of KUAL you are using, the kindlet or the booklet?
That might have something to do with missing menu entries.
