Up in the Panhandle, it gets cold and stays that way, and the wind sure doesn't help matters. The Abilene area is more temperate, but it does still snow occasionally and get cold, though as the other poster pointed out, it doesn't STAY cold for long.
It was really funny when I moved up here though when people would assume I had never seen snow.
