First book in the Void Trilogly. I really liked his Commonwealth books (Pandora's Star and Judas Unchained).
I've read the Void Trilogy too, it's excellent. Takes place 1,000 years after the Commonwealth Saga and a bunch of characters from those show back up in these. You'll also find out just exactly why everyone was so terrified of The Cat. You do NOT need to have read the Commonwealth Saga to enjoy this trilogy, but you will thoroughly enjoy all the returning characters if you have.
