I bought a Voyage because I could not do without buttons (I had 3 Kindle Keyboards!). However, after several months, I only use the buttons occasionally. I thought I would hate touching the screen all the time (fingerprints - I hate fingerprints), but it became a nothing - I just use a microfiber cloth to clean it every day.
Now, I love, love, love my Voyage, but it you don't want to fork out that much money, the Paperwhite was pretty similar without the buttons. The main feature, besides the buttons, was the auto-lighting. I also like the bezel edge, but that's probably not the biggest driver for most people.
The reality is that none of the ereaders will eventually have buttons simply because we are a tiny market - it is less costly to change software than to include hardware. But, as mentioned, if you are still hung up on buttons (as I was), get a Voyage.
