Fastboot does not work reliably in a virtual machine when the USB ID changes.

You might need to try different USB drivers for windows, or boot kubrick on a different computer.

As a last resort, you may need to use the internal serial port, though unless you have hardware damage, MfgTool or kubrick should work (though not necessarily on all host computers, unfortunately). Even a different USB port or cable mat help, but for sure keep your kindle charged.
