Protip: Make sure your friend knows what he is talking about. This is a Li-Ion battery. That advice doesn't apply. And to be honest, I have no idea what type of battery it would apply to. Or at least the reason given.

My advice for Li-Ion batteries: Don't worry about them. Use them when you need to, charge them when you can. There are things you can do to extend their life, but they basically mean you aren't using the battery. And are impractical for a device like an ereader.
