So Obuntu will be in my SD card and the stock system in the interna memory? Are there problems if I install it from the 1.7 firmware or it doesn't matter?

As regards vlc as long as i know it should open every file format

As regards the battery, do you think you will add the function that will allow to know about the battery level?
