Yes, had 2 different style non-official covers for my Aura HD. One was passable, I have it still in case something ever damages the official cover. The other was so completely unacceptable it was tossed out.

I will see what people think of the official cover, as I'm not pre-ordering, but my inclination would be to buy it.

FWIW, Oberon leather covers are wonderful, and protective, but do add a lot of weight. I used one on my original Nook and that *did* exceed the standard of the official Nook cover, by far. But the price also exceeded that of the official Nook cover, i.e. double . ;-)

And I've heard good things about Noreve leather covers for devices as well, but same deal, more expensive than official covers, not less.
