It can be built and probably will be.
Remember Google Glass?
A clip-on display for glasses that will project a text screen into the field of view, much like Microsoft's Hololens, can be wirelessly fed from a very small, low power computer. Maybe dedicated hardware, maybe as an app from a phone, watch, or PC.
As dedicated hardware it can be built into a pen form factor to accommodate a paging button and a motion-sensor for the guy.
Technology evolution doesn't stop; there will be be and different ways to read soon enough.
