Minimum 16GB onboard storage (or option to expand, such as SD card slot.)
Minimum battery life sufficient for 24 hours reading over 3-4 days (the more the better.)
Software:
Able to read ebooks from my local public library (i.e. Adobe DRM ePubs.)
Able to install extra fonts on device, as well as support multiple embedded fonts in ebooks.
Able to use font features such as ligatures and kerning for installed and embedded fonts.
Able to adjust font weight and sharpness (anti-aliasing level) independently.
Able to display fully-justified text with automatic hyphenation.
Able to display ebooks full-screen (nothing but book content on screen.)
Able to adjust line spacing in increments of one pixel down to zero spacing.
Able to adjust top/bottom and left/right page margins down to zero margin.
Able to adjust font height in increments of one pixel.
My current reader is almost perfect, only its 6in. screen is slightly smaller than ideal.
