Well, I know that.
I even went for about a minute of holding power button. Didn't helped, for some reason CoolReader crashed in such way that only reset was able to reset device.
And yes, I tried with two consecutive power button presses, as I saw that screen stays the same when device is crashed (KSM changes screen when reader is shut down, i.e. starts script for power off that causes different screen when reader is powered off).
On koreader same book crashed it, but with power button I was able to "escape" situation.
Koreader and CoolReader use same epub rendering engine AFAIK, but there are obviously some differences.
I'm sure if I didn't had reset "button" I would need to wait battery to run out, as I'm not into opening my device to disconnect battery. As this book can be opened on my PC without problem (I use Sumatra PDF for epubs), I never suspected problems with it before I experienced them.
So, not having dedicated reset could be very merry experience on any device.
And yes, I didn't tested that book on nickel, I don't use it at all. It may work on it without problem.
