Are you thinking of Saved Searches? If you bring up Saved Searches (Tools->Save Searches), You can select a saved search and populate both the Find and Replace boxes, and conduct the F&R activity from within the Saved Searched widget.

If you put your cursor in the Replace box before bringing up the Clip Editor (Tools->Clip Editor) you can select a clip and paste it into the Replace box by hitting the "Paste Clip" button. But the cursor has to be there first. The clip gets pasted wherever the cursor is.
