Well, since a few days, I've problems with my laptop. When copying large amounts of data from the internal hard disk to a USB3 disk, it just freezes partially, at some point. The Explorer window hangs, the system gets very slow to react, and basically, nothing works as it should.
Suspecting a hard disk problem, I've run a full checkdisk, and found no problems. It could also be a memory problem. I have had one message like "Error at location 0x...... The memory could not be written." So, I took the two 8GB chips I added myself out, and ran the full diagnostics suite built into the laptop's BIOS (This will take around 8 hours or so, testing everything, from HDD ot memory and so on). As of yet, I haven't found any problems. Lastly, I'll run either the Windows memory check, and/or MemTest86+. If I still don't find anything, I'll run the laptop for some time with 'only' 16GB, installed from the factory. If it then works as it should, I assume that one of the two chips I added has gone bad.
If it still doesn't work as it should, I'll be stumped, as up until now (with the two extra chips removed) every test I run reports no errors.
