It's happened with Amazon. Before Amazon sole the Kindle and Kindle eBooks, they sold Mobipocket, MS Reader, & PDF. When Amazon decided to stop selling eBooks, everybody who bought eBooks from Amazon lost access to them. So if they needed to download to update the DRM say on a new computer, too bad.
