I wonder if the LEDs in an AMOLED screen that don't change between refreshes are left lighted through the cycle. If that's true there would be little or no blinking between cycles most of the time

I don't know this is how it works but I think I'd be a little surprised if it didn't. I suspect it would take more power to light the LED than to keep it on.
