I in general have very little interest in organized sports at any level. I was searching for something to watch on TV last night and got caught up in the last portion (last few minutes of regular play, overtime play, and shoot out) of the Gold Medal final in football [American soccer]. I'll admit that one thing that puzzles me about what was said about the game on completion last night [American commentators to be understood] and reading about it this morning [again mainly American opinions] is how much of the credit for the win is given to team captain Neymar versus the goal keeper Weverton. Watching the shoot out it (four goals made for Germany versus five for Brazil) it seems to me that scoring in a shoot out is easy. Preventing the score by the goal keeper is exceptionally difficult.
