Anyway to connect plugged-in ereader via command

During my major exercise to remove series info from the reader (and just keep it in the title), I end up plugging in the USB cable many times. Is there a way that I can re-connect the reader using a Kobo reader command or a Calibre command (not likely since Calibre doesn't even see the ejected reader) or a windows command?

I figure that a device has a finite lifetime of cable connects and I would like to minimize wherever possible.
