It isn't really, it is a networked device using the MTP protocol, not a USB device using USBMS. But the Gnome Virtual Filesystems (GVfs) implementation fakes it, which is how it shows up in Nautilus.

This is bad news, but it does make me feel better, since I could not find anything about this and I thought it was due to my lack of Linux knowledge (not knowing the correct search terms).
