The correct name is The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. United Kingdom is a widely accepted abbreviation (although there was previously a United Kingdom), however Great Britain is not strictly correct and if I was from Northern Ireland I think I might object to it.

Ahh. Yes, but it was my understanding that many people from there would be preferred to be listed under their own countries.
I would rather err on the side of caution.
