How is it "propaganda"? It is a report that turned out to be about a false claim. And the ultimate falseness of the claim has been noted.

I fail to see why you believe that is deserving of the thread being deleted and thus purged from the public consciousness. Deleting threads is a rather extreme and permanent sort of thing, the likes of which should only be done at great need.
If its existence bothers you that much, perhaps you could just ignore it? It will soon disappear if people stop replying...
But I doubt anyone with the authority to do so will feel motivated to delete it.
