As a big eBook fan, I was happy to find this site via a long set of links that began here -
http://goodexperience.com/2009/01/a-...ick-to-cha.php
So, I'm cruising the free eBooks section of this site and found out the site is based in Canada (I subscribe to The Walrus and Spacing magazines and listen to a lot of CBC podcasts, so much of the media I acees is from Canada) and the caveat to the Lawrence Lessig book I want to download says this -
"This work is in the Canadian public domain OR the copyright holder has given specific permission for distribution. It may still be under copyright in some countries. If you live outside Canada, check your country's copyright laws. If the book is under copyright in your country, do not download or redistribute this work."
So, my question as a new member is, how does one go about and find all that copyright info out? I'm from the U.S.A., and not familiar with where I need to go to find out if I can download that Lessig book for free legally. (I've already read it years ago and lost my copy, so I'm looking to acquire an eBook copy to replace what I lost.) Of course, I want to do so legally, which is why I ask where I need to go so I can determine the proper copyright info.
Thanks,
Adam
