Huh, I thought it checked the file extension...
Regardless, it stores them in [userstore]/documents/"${filename}"
No one has ever thought to make an extension/hack which tries running executable code from there
so downloading the file whether it works or not wouldn't help.

We *could* add code to the jailbreak which tries to execute /mnt/us/documents/emergency.mobi -- specifically for the sake of people with broken USB connectors.
But it still wouldn't help @
