Given you appear to be rather hard on your reading devices (breaking three of them in a row is not a good track record!) perhaps you should consider an accidental damage insurance policy?
But if I temper my excitement, then how am I going to entertain heated discussions upon release regarding light gradients, aging, the optic nerve, colour representation within the modern digital cameras, the complexity of image posting, the definition of 'The Faulty Device', etc.? :P

And this was the first Kobo that broke on me, the others had other issues. Oh and there were about 7. All of them had gradients. Except for my current one. Which is broken.
