I don't see eliminating margins as an improvement. Apparently you do. Luckily Kobo allows us to each have it our own way.
You think that a "good ereader should go above and beyond what a paper book used to be" which is I think a curious attitude for someone that reads off of e-ink readers to take. They are meant to emulate the look of paper. Why not use a tablet? An lcd screen has far superior contrast. Is it just about battery life?
