I tried this on my KV. Everything happened perfectly but after connecting to internet for update of software, the kindle shows message:

'kindle needed repairing error code: 2'
In panic i formatted kindle and on pressing the button, it continuously restart.

I tried adding a blank file DO_FACTORY_RESTORE to the usb storage but unable to get factory restore.

After that i panicked, i deleted all files that were shown in USB drive on connecting to computer. I formatted the drive. But same message came

Finally i downloaded software update 5.8.1 from amazon and load on kindle and it started working.

Fearing to try jailbreak again.
