A lithium battery has an average lifespan of around 5 years, but that is an average - some last longer, some (regrettably) last a shorter time. Sounds as though yours is at the low end of the bell curve. There's no reason to think that any other brand would be different: they are all using the same battery technology.

It's not particularly difficult to replace the battery, should you wish to do so.
