Fair enough, but for me the big difference is that you can handle a paperback very differently from an eReader. You don't have to hold it gently, you don't have to see that you're not bending or warping it, you don't have to only hold it round the edges, and if you put it in your bag you don't have to be cautious about what might be exerting pressure on it.
For me, weight is not an issue. I love my Aura HD for the size of its screen, but also for its weight -- I'm bigger than average (194 cm) with big hands, so smaller, lower-weight devices are actually
less comfortable for me to hold for a solid reading session.
I'd certainly give a 7.8" device serious consideration, but I echo others' concern about fragility of the substrate (and, presumably, a geometrically-higher price).
