I went from my basic kindles straight to the Voyage. The difference was actually not as jawdropping as some of the posts here suggested (the basics had very good contrast too), but I still read exclusively on the Voyage and the Oasis now. The basics just don't look as good.
BTW, I've read in several places that the PW3 has worse contrast than the Voyage and the Oasis. Not having a PW3 myself, I don't know if it's true or not.
