Thanks to this thread I recently bought a KT2 device (serial starts with 90C6) and managed to successfully jailbreak it following the directions here, I also installed successfully USBNetwork and got ssh remote access working.
Since the last point of the post was that I could update to the latest release and the jailbreak would survive I got back to that after I got everything working but after installing 5.8.2 it looks like the jailbreak is no longer active, I have the KUAL icon on the main menu but clicking it says "The selected application could not be started", if I transfer the update file for KUAL on the USB root I get a message after unmounting the kindle that the update image was invalid for this device.
I initially thought I missed something so I started back from scratch, all went well but when I updated again to 5.8.2 I got the same result.
Is there something to do after I update to restore the jailbreak or is it supposed to not be affected at all ?
