I have a friend in another state who lives in chronic pain (due to scarring, etc. from numerous back surgeries; she has a metal rod now up her back) now because the doctors will no longer prescribe a morphine pump for her because of fear of the feds and maybe the state also.
I have no doubt that the pendulum will swing back the other way eventually, but it might take a while. I'll withhold comment about the politicians whose knee-jerk reaction to pill mills and such has brought about the change in law and policy and the honest physicians' fears of stepping across the line.
This book is certainly timely.
