Yes, but did all models and firmware versions get tested? Probably not. MS would only test what they considered important. And for other devices, it needed someone with the device to be running the previews, report the problem and then MS to decide to fix. There is one report here of an iPhone 5s not working with this release, so that suggests MS missed something.
