How not to install the Windows 10 Anniversary Update

Some devices that plug into the USB to be accessed by the computer no longer work after the Windows 10 Anniversary Update is installed. Devices like Kobo, Apple, Kindle, and others do not proper work. So if you do not want to update your working Windows 10 to the not working Anniversary Update, follow the directions below.

The best way to prevent your Windows 10 system from installing the Anniversary Update is to turn off the Windows Update service. To do that...

1. Hit Win+R on the keyboard
2. Type services.msc in the box
3. Find Windows Update in the list of services
4. Click on it and change the service from manual to disabled
5. Reboot

Do not enable the service until we are sure that the Anniversary Update is working properly with USB devices
