What is your default Language settings (See Preferences/Language) for both the User Interface and Default Language for Metadata? Is it "English" and "English - United States"?

Does your xhtml use xml:lang= or lang= attributes on the html tag and if so what are they set to?

Does clicking on the SpellCheck abc checkmark button do anything?
